No, just a fact if you have a good amp who needs petals like I can understand in your case since theres not that many options. To admit it I have a petal which is all fucked up since the battery holder thing won't work. But I don't wanna petal anymore, since my amp has some sick effects. Ohh forgot to mention, nice Amps, I got a 50, your 100 can probably beat the shit outta mine.

No dude... gigging amps like mine, dont usually have an array of effects, yes mine has a reverb and a distortion, which works really good, but if you want Wah, Vibrato, heavier dist. or anything like that you need pedals... watch a fuckin concert, the lead player has a entire board on the ground of pedals... you need also need pedals to switch effects while performing, because you cant be messing with amp effects and play at the same time, unless you have a floor pedal that hooks to your amp (which i do)
now if you have a 20wat practice amp, ya that might have hundreds of built in Fx
so if you really think pedals arent necessary...again you know nothing

Your right on that, but I just disagree with the whole petal thing, yes they are a handy device, but With my amp I don't need petals, while I can see on your case that you do, but 2, I think thats a little much. I got 1 petal for mine, all it does is crank the volume up a knotch or it will give it a clean crisp sound. And I do know stuff about guitars, How long have you been playing?

3 years. Man you really obviously dont know what your talking about. Look on the practice amp, i have tons and tons of built in FX, and i dont need pedals no. But i dont think your understanding what i mean by "rig" its your performing set, for playing gigs. Do you have a gigging amp? at least 100watts? Amps that size rarely have an array of effects beyond simple distortion. I say again, if pedals arent needed why the hell do you think at shows guitarists have a pedal baord with like 10 pedals?

Cool stuff here, and I actually think effects pedals are cool, given that certain bands don't use them, some do, think of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi (Richie Sambora has like 4 or 5 different guitars for one show), maybe Lynyrd Skynyrd, but yeah, they all use effects pedals live, and probably have a good amp with built in effects for the studio work.

I dont think theres a profesional band out there that doesnt use SOME pedals.... sure you dont NEED them but if you want different tones and effects you need them. And if you dont have a control pedal to control built ins while performing

Man, I know quite a bit look Most guitarists can sound great without petals, The only petal I find useful is the type that can play back chording and shit. I've been playing for 3 years also jackass so I should know what the hell I'm talking about. Brag all you want dickhead ok.

Oh angusaholic thats a warning. =]
Now of course you can play without pedals, as i do mostly use my built in distortion. But now, if i want a sound that the amp doesnt make, what do i do? Pedal =]
Your acting like its a crime to have pedals..i garantee theres sounds you cant get without pedals, because with pedals you can overlap effects
You really talk like you dont know what your talking about. So i was just assuming you didnt.

You really talk like you should be in one of those groups for retards. I understand that some sounds you can't get without petals. Really I guess AC/DC doesn't need petals and they can have the exact same effect. The only cool petals out there in my opinion are Talkboxes and those ones where you record the chords you play, then start playing again, and the chords will play back to you. Anyhow, please lets just move past this ok? I do realize that you can get some sick effects with petals, but Its my opinion that petals aren't needed. Gimmie the Les Paul bitch and nobody gets hurt
