According to David Lee Roth, alcohol has not been the only problem of Eddie's in later years: an accidental use of Crystal Meth, often found in street Cocaine, led Van Halen to grow a strong addiction on the drug, and as an effect, he allegedly is unable to sustain the burden of lengthy tours and performances. ... Since the 2004 tour, Eddie Van Halen has disappeared from the public eye, until a recent apparition at the 14th annual Elton John Academy Awards viewing dinner and after-party, in West Hollywood, California, held on March 5th, 2006. Fans stood in extreme worry at the pictures of the event, picturing the guitarist in bad health and apparently under the influence of alcohol. quoted from blogging.la/archives/2006/03/eddie_van_halen.phtmlI hear hes also still smoking even after battling cancer. As far as music goes heres his latest and greatest Eddie Van Halen has joined forces with adult director Michael Ninn to write and perform two songs for the upcoming Ninn Worx feature, Sacred Sin. Van Halen told AVN.com he's not bothered by possible criticism. "I'm working with a friend -- very simple. I like his work," he said. "Michael Ninn is like a Spielberg to me: the imagery, the way he makes things look, just... sensual." The Van Halen songs in Sacred Sin are "Rise" and "Catherine," a remix of the theme from Ninn's 2005 movie of the same name. "One of the things that Eddie really, really liked," Ninn said, "was the theme from Catherine. He did a remix, it still carries the melody, but it's got a Kashmir-Led Zeppelin kind of feel to it now. A very, very powerful piece of music." The second song, "Rise," was a tune he had been working on already. "I heard it and just fell in love with it," Ninn said. Van Halen also contributed some "transitional piano pieces that are sprinkled throughout the movie." The rest of the music is the work of frequent Ninn collaborator Loren Alexander. Ninn Worx will release Sacred Sin on September 13. The two-disc set will contain music videos for both Van Halen songs. "They're pretty powerful," Ninn said, calling his friend "an incredible performer who really comes to life when the cameras are on. He's a showman." damn, its always sad to hear this type of thing, a popular celebrity gets addicted to drugs, and therefore shoots his career down the drain, unless he manages to turn his life around, which, i guess i speak for everyone when i say this, is the better option, you hear of so many people starting to battle with depression after starting to take drugs, and then killing themselves, its said

Yep, thats what I heard a few months ago, a few DJ's on our local radio station said that ages ago, not confirmed yet. I do hope though that Eddie cleans up soon, because it will come back and hurt his carrer, not like it already has.

yeah, from what i hear it rots your teeth, ick, but i found the Monsters Of Rock bootleg from 1984 in Germany, also on it is Accept, Dio, Motley Crue, Motorhead (i think that section was officialized, so no sharing happens), Van Halen, and AC/DC, isn't Eddie the guitar player, cause if so, then maybe if back in the 80s Eddie Van Halen challenged Angus Young to a dual, itd be not only cool, but would be hard to choose.

Yeah I watched the story about meth on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago. Alot of people wrote in the week later saying that they knew people who just died form it and one lady wrote in saying her daughter tried it at a party and just burried her because she died from it only a few hours later after taking it. Drugs was a big topic we had to learn about in school and Alcohol was another one. I'll never try it! Smoking, Injecting, Taking as tablets is all dirty stuff to me. Iv'e seen what it can do for a few hours of fun and I don't think it's worth it the slightest. Hopefully Eddie Van Halen can get back on track and one day see him up on stage again! He'll have alot of people around him supporting him.

"Wanna know my favorite bands? AC/DC, Def Lep, Van Halen, not Van Hagar." Which movie is this from? (No, it's not something angusaholic said, lol). I was watching it and I never realized why the person said "not Van Hagar" until I found out about Sammy Hagar. Obviously, they don't like the new era of VH. Anyway, guess it right and I'll upload an audio bootleg of your choosing on Monday (YES! broadband!!!!). Back on topic. Eddie will probably die from this. Prime example of why street drugs are bad. Listen to the people in health class. Street drugs = bad. M'kay? Don't be one of these people: Smoking is also pretty bad. I won't do any of the drugs, except alcohol (it's not a drug, per say, but you get my drift). In moderation, it is healthy for you, as long as you control it and don't get wasted or throw down a 12 pack in one night, that is.... I would never think of doing that. Wine with dinner, maybe a beer after work, but no more than one serving a day. It's when you are addicted to it that alcohol becomes a drug.
