Get this, a group called "Godsmack" has recently done a really ridiculous version of "Good Times Bad Times"...the guitars are good, the vocals ain't.

Yeah, I "borrowed" all there albums, and I must say, I have changed feelings towards Zeppelin, still not my favourite, but hey I gained a little respect for them. How The West Was Won is like in my top 10 for favourite live albums lol

Yeah, one of the craziest songs of theirs is "Immigrant Song"...

That's all I remember. Gotta put their "Remasters" 2CD set into heavier rotation on my Zune.

No, he's just saying that technically you were wrong when you said country didn't influence rock...come on, even some of the now legendary country singers like Hank Williams were a little out in left field for their time, something that many bands now have no idea how that feels, since bands today are so into "commercialism" and "mainstream". That's why I like classic rock and country more than contemporary rock.
Heck, at one time we'd be ridiculed just for saying anything against our parents, thank God we have the freedom of speech. Daclarob is just saying that you, and probably everyone else out there, need to take a look back...heck our parents were teens like us at one time, and their parents, and so on and so forth, until you get back to the beginning of time.
But yeah, I think had I not heard of the influence of Led Zep and the Stones on AC/DC, I might not have been so into checking them out, and I'm glad I did.

Nah, I think I meant exactly what I typed, clearly and succinctly with absolutely no inference or possibility of misconstrual, you may over time come to find that if I have something to say I will say it, and your good self once wrote that you appreciate all music, whether you like the genre or not,all I suggested was that in order to further anyones musical horizons they may, or may not, wish to investigate the artists who influenced their heroes, I did not however, imply that you had to like them. Hope this goes someway to clarifying the situation for all

Interesting, excerpt from Wikipedia:
In fact, some of the first "rock and roll" records were actually "black R&B" played to "white" audiences.

Italians = mandolin Irish = fiddle Spanish = guitar French (?) = dulcimer Africans = banjo
The banjo is the one of the key instruments in bluegrass music.
In fact, the only "true" American art form, jazz, was actually started by blacks during the Harlem Renaissance...which proves daclarob's theory of it all falling back to country and gospel music.

well man, I'd put it this way the african people were the music geniouses with inventing blues. If it weren't for blues, there would be no AC/DC or rock n roll in general

Yeah, basically all music that we listen to now:
country, rock, blues, jazz, rap...
was somehow pioneered/formed by "Black Music"
Also I've heard that the "Negro" Spirituals can be played on a piano by just using the black "flat/sharp" keys...ironic, I think not.

To start out im in no way shape or form racist at ALL, but its funny how black music was the beginning (gospel, blues etc) of all the great music that we enjoy, and there also the end (rap)
