That didn't come across as racist, in fact, it sounds quite complimentary.
Heck, look at the guy who is credited with the invention of rock & roll, Chuck Berry, a legendary black guy, who, without him, we wouldn't be having this discussion here.

Clutch, now theres a white band, rock/rap styley, Everlast, he formerly of House Of Pain, (god help us) The Beastie Boys, s'pose even Linkin Park to a degree,oh yeah, and Korn and wotshisname? To start out im in no way shape or form racist at ALL, but its funny how black music was the beginning (gospel, blues etc) of all the great music that we enjoy, and there also the end (rap) I know man, I completly agree with you... they started us off, and they ended us off, just like a 5 paragraph essay lol
