Thayes you go so fuckin off topic.
Anyway, yes many people claim to like Led Zep, and talk about how great they are, were there shirts etc... and not know anything about them or even listened to them beyond Stairway.
But angusaholic you say you hate them, have you actually listened to them? they dont have the status they have for no reason.

True. People still have to earn their spot in the music scene, weather you like them or not, they obviously have fans out there.
I hate people (especially Girls) who wear t-shirts of bands even when they haven't heard them. There was a chick at our school who was wearing a AC/DC t-shirt once and I said have you even heard them? Sh said yeah I love the song welcome to the jungle. I just thing you dumb ass bitch.
I personally like some of their stuff, at least what I have heard of them. My friend owns all their albums and put them on his iPod and we were listening to them at school once. He gave me some tracks, just their well known one's.

Although one of the lines they have is perhaps one of the most recognizable lines in rock and roll:
"Hey baby, oh baby, hey baby, what you gonna do now..." - Black Dog

"And shes buying a stairway to heaven" lol

Thats what I would have thought to. In Black Dog it almost sounds like he sings that part too fast.

I think I've heard one track off of the "West" CD (Rock And Roll) and it was pretty good.
Quite honestly...if you think about it...bands like AC/DC, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Guns 'n' Roses, Bon Jovi...any band that came out in the 70s or 80s has Led Zeppelin to be thankful for. Same thing with the bands who came out in the 90s and now...they have to be thankful for AC/DC, GNR, The Stones..etc.,

Yeah, every band had at least a couple of influences. I know Van Halen got his tapping from watching Jimmy Page. All the Rock bands from the 70's and then Heavy Metal bands from the 80's were influenced by band from the 50's and 60's they just took it to a new level.

Yeah...same thing with the 90s for the 70s/early 80s. This is what I like better about rock music...it actually knows when to reinvent itself and actually take a looping back partly into the time period before it.
rambling on here....(Something I don't think country music ever has...come to think about it...I only listen to 6 or 7 radio stations seriously, 5 which are rock...and two which are country...and one of the country stations has the Braves (home town baseball team) on it so that doesn't count...and I've heard them play some rock too (Jimmy Buffet, Eagles, Skynyrd) so that doesn't count either) Look at that ratio....5:1 Rock Rules....and I came to that conclusion using, well math is all.
