Does anyone here actually enjoy watching them?
Cause even though I watch them, I don't neccesarily enjoy them. I mean, it's good entertainment some times (especially on The Price Is Right when a contestant wins a prize), I don't get worked up over it.
But one thing I do like to do is watch Jeopardy and (try) to answer the questions correctly.

I mainly watch them to see if someone from my area (as in, Georgia) is on there...or to see if something interesting happens (seeing as they are taped live).

Yeah, I prefer sports anyday...when a team's on that I want to to watch that is.
I just can't force myself to sit through a game that I'm not "attached" to.
Teams I like: Atlanta Braves UGA Bulldogs Ga Tech Yellow Jackets Atlanta Falcons
and that's about it...I know, it seems like I root for the home team, but I do think other teams are good, just I don't have any "connections" to them.

I'm not a fan of game shows. I never watch them. Like SUA I only watch TV if there is something good on or I put on a DVD.

Ah yeah, DVD, the containment device for decent TV.
Can you believe that the writer's guild strike has affected TV so much here in the US that FOX-TV has decided to rebroadcast the first episodes of the two most popular of their series? The shows in question are "House" and "Bones"...House is a medical drama and Bones is an investigative drama.

Not many... and hardly ever. Everyone at one point watched Wheel Of Fortune, Family Feud and the Price Is Wrong and whatever else was popular over the last 50 years... but I'd never watch it religiously.
Last one I used to like was Catch Phrase, but it got canceled cause apparently too many dumb cunts couldn't work out how you play it.... fuckin idiots, it was piss easy.
But the last few years game shows are not gameshows anymore.
The last decent one was Who Wants To Be A Fucking Millionaire which should be called "you can answer all the questions in 5 minutes if we'd stop going to commercial and continuously asking you if thats your final decision"
I hate to use the clichi, but it's called the MTV generation. Things should be fast paced, no waiting, entertaining and get the fuck on with it.... thats why mostly the game show audience of of an older generation, they have the patience, but we dont, we want it faster and not to test our patience.
Plus eople at home want to play along, and they don't have the patience to keep waiting till add breaks are over, so they wont watch the stupid thing anymore...
then every other god damn TV station has to rip off that game show, and make it there own... 1 vs 100? It's who wants to be a fuckwit with a waste of time eliminating other people...
And what the fuck is with Deal Or No Deal? How is that shit rating at all?? You cant play along at home, the thing is too long and boring... what the fuck does anyone see in it at all?
The only kind of game shows i can stand at the moment is Spicks & Specs and Rock Quiz, and I hardly watch those either, but least you can play along at home, be entertained, not be annoyed by the host and there is no commercials at all in them.
And talk about recycling old bad ideas... 2008 will see the return of Gladiators. Gimmie a fuckin' break. Then they will find a way to combine reality TV with the game shows and make an even bigger waste of time no will watch, but it's cheaper for TV studios, so they will ram it down your throat, claim it's rating high, and try and sucker in dickheads with IQ's under 2 that figure it's the best thing sing sliced bread cause there faggot face idol is on it.

Deal Or No Deal in the US is actually pretty good.
But still The Wheel Of Fortune is the best of them all. Then "The Price Is Right (US Version)", but only with Bob Barker, Drew Carey is ok, but he's not a game show host, he's a comedian.
Gladiators? Never heard of it, must be an Australian thing?

It was a show on about a decade ago. They have professional wrestlers or body builders and have "regular" jerks take them on in contests. It's basically people hitting each other with over-sized novelty wacky sticks. Pointless show.

WTF That's exactly what I'm thinking right now after reading that. I don't think that'd work here in the US, seeing as we have too many frivolous lawsuits...it just wouldn't last too long here.
