rockstar.msn.com/Rock Star: Supernova is the second season of the reality television show Rock Star where 15 contestants compete to become the lead vocalist for the rock band Supernova. In March 2006, it was announced that the new season would focus on finding a lead singer for a new group entitled Supernova, featuring Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. The show began online on the Rock Star web site on MSN on Monday, July 3rd with an Internet exclusive weekly episode and will premiere on CBS on 5 July 2006 in the United States. In Canada this season of Rock Star is expected in the summer of 2006 on Global. Once again, it will be hosted by Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke. Votes can be cast on the Rock Star website. The newly formed Supernova will record an album after the show's run followed by a world tour in early 2007.

I honestly don't really like this idea, because I don't think they should choose a singer based on a reality show. Its a good show, and hey look at who INXS got, they got a singer that sounded like there original one.

I can tell the difference between the INXS's old and new singer. I think them kind of SHows are a good idea for a band who seeks a new singer. The idea has obviously been taken from American Idol, Australian Idol or whatever your country has type shows. I think a guitar type show like this would also be a good idea if a Band needs a new Guitarist or any Instrument.

*sigh* I wish Van Halen would have been on this show, they were originally planning on going on that show but then they declined that idea

It's like a horrible combination: Van Halen songs, David Lee Roth, and country acoustic guitar!!
Acoustic guitar is cool, but not country acoustic.

Van Halen songs + David Lee Roth isnt a bad combination lol
but country + anything is a bad combo. i dont personally like country but country songs should be country songs, not country versions of other songs

but, Hayseed Dixie is cool, they did the AC/DC Tribute album in two days, while drinking heroic amounts of alcohol, probably enough to make Bon cringe, but yeah, crossover type remakes of songs don't usually work out good.

they are ok, but i still wanna get the cd of ac/dc covers, just for the heck of, and since AC/DC would make a fraction of the money, itd be supporting the band, (songwriting)
