On February 19, Toshiba announced it will no longer be making HD-DVD players and drives.
Sony, the company who failed (well, ulitmately failed) with the Betamax tape in the 70s, and didn't ever get a big enough share of the portable audio recording market with MiniDisc has finally came out on top in a format war.
My guess is Disney's adoption of the format helped. Disney's market plus Sony's recent advances in the way they make and market stuff has helped seal the deal.
What are your thoughts? It was only a year or two ago in which HD-DVD and Blu-Ray were both new.
