yeah they are. They share only high def movies or TV shows. It sucks cause you can't browse without being a member. But it's still ok as most free public sites have links to 720p or above for most recent movies anyway.

The only thing I have against HD is (besides the US government requiring that all broadcasts in the US be digital by Feb 2009, why get involved in TV, do what you are supposed to do, make laws, not do the FCCs job) that if everyone goes High Def, what happens to the movie studios?
What do they have that's higher quality that can help them cover up flaws when HD becomes what VHS was?
Also, DVD has only been used for not even ten years, VHS was used for over twenty, why replace it now, work on standardizing HD and then replace DVD. We are gonna be in the same type of format war as VHS vs Betamax (which, wasn't Betamax developed by Sony?)
Also, the guys at Sony have the bright idea of re-releasing an early 90s concert that was on 35mm film (not HD) on an HD source without doing anything to clean it up (I've read a review, the second half of the Live At Donington Blu-Ray disc apparently has a scratch and the whole thing has a film grain).
Also, they keep releasing movies on HD-DVD/Blu-Ray AND DVD at the same time, while HD players cost hundreds and DVD players cost about 40 - 50 bucks for a decent one. And kids, you know how cars have the DVD player systems? Well, a kid sees the HD version of the movie and then wants to watch it on the road, the parents say "Oops, I have the Blu-Ray, it won't play in the car."
Also, look at what CD eventually did to audio fidelity (loudness war)...will that type of thing happen to movies?
