AC/DC frontman in crash with Ms Dynamite
A high-speed car crash with the lead singer of Australian rock veterans AC/DC has landed British rap star Ms Dynamite in hospital.
Brian Johnson hit the back of Ms Dynamite's car in a 160-kilometre-per-hour collision yesterday, sending it spinning out of control.
The pair were filming the finale of Sky's The Race show at the famous Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, central England.
In the show, celebrities do battle on the track under the tutelage of British Formula One stars David Coulthard and Eddie Irvine.
A Sky spokesman said: "The contestants were on lap four of 25 when Brian Johnson's wheel clipped the back of Ms Dynamite's car, causing it to spin down the track for about 50 metres before it came to a halt".
"It was quite a violent collision, but the paramedics were straight on the scene," he said.
"She was conscious and talking and seemed to be OK.
"She doesn't appear to have any serious injuries but she is bound to be very shaken."
The 25-year-old was airlifted to Northampton General Hospital.
Ms Dynamite - real name: Niomi McLean-Daley - was then taken to another hospital, where she was kept overnight for observation.
A hugely popular act on the British music scene, Ms Dynamite shot to fame after winning the coveted Mercury Music Prize in 2002.
She has picked up a string of awards since.
Johnson, 59, is the English frontman of AC/DC.
He won the race, narrowly beating 1980s electropop star Gary Numan into second place.

Apparently "Ms Dynamite" is ok, I sure hope she is, can anyone translate the km/h and meter parts into the US standard?

whoa, 100 mph collision, and i'm guessing since meter sticks are about 1.2 times the length of a yardstick, that the car went about 150-160 feet. i sure hope she's ok.
