Ok guys heres the deal, my laptop (main computer, died, took it in for service, comes back HALF the RAM is gone (That makes it run smooth), Ok... im pissed... to complicate that, the ENTER key comes off!! Uhg! Well im using my desktop, problem! Desktop has USB 1.0 Ports, My External Hard Drive (Has all my videos and boots) Is USB 2.0. So therfore... i cant access my boots and crap! To make it worse, im going to camp untill thursday... well stick with me guys -Kyle Sullivan

you can access your boots even if it's USB 2.0 it'll only run on USB 1.0 speed you don't have to worry about your external hard drive, the data is still there so you only need to hook it up to a good computer

And i understand that the data is safe. But no, the USB 1.0 port WONT run the 2.0 Hard drive. It will connect and show it as a HD, and i can browse it, but when i try to access a file, it freezes and makes a disconnecting noise then a recconecting noise, but i get a message "Device not revognized" (Yes all drivers are installed) The same thing happedns when i use a USB 2.0 Network adapter, so its the USB

hmm...maybe you need to run a system check to see if all your devices are installed properly

anyway the devices are fully installed all drivers up to date, the fact is, the USB 1.0 ports are incompatible with the 2.0! Every 2.0 device I have doesnt work with the computer
