Pretty cool man, do you know the Blues Scale? If so, a handy tip, All of AC/DC's solos revolve around that scale, what I do is just randomly play around with that scale hehe quite fun actually. i was using the Aminor penatonic. Ah Yes the Penatonic. My most memorable and favorite guitar lesson was when my Guitar Teacher (Who happend to be the coolest mother fucker going round) said: "I'll just play chords and you solo to them using the penatonic technique." It was soooooo much fun just jamming like that.

IMO, the best way to write a song, is not to write a song, but rather, let the song write itself.

Yeah, and here they are in school trying to "teach" us a way to write essays. I keep on thinking to myself "Shit, this ain't how to write! You write from the heart (or from sections slightly lower in certain circumstances (ie the gut)), not from a shitty writing prompt." The GA school system is a big bunch of fuckheads, they make us take a series of 5 tests and still pass a certain amount of classes in certain subject areas to see if we can get a high school diploma. I've already taken one, the writing test, passing grade is 500. I made a 514, just wasn't motivated enough to write my best work I guess...
Oh well, from what I hear when Dave was with AC/DC Malcolm said that he was gonna go off and play a blues riff and told them to keep up and Dave just started singing something, I think it was the song that would've been called "Sunset Strip" on the first album had he recorded it. The song itself became "Show Business". I'll have to check on which song it was, but I do know that happened.
