Forget buying the world a Coke. Dr. Pepper is promising a free soda to every man, woman and child in America if what’s left of Guns N’ Roses actually releases Chinese Democracy some time in 2008. Guns N' Roses started recording the epically stalled album in 1994, and it will allegedly come out later this year. Although everyone’s been saying that since… 1994, basically. Because if 14 years of hype aren’t enough to fuel the album’s release, certainly the promise of a free can of soda is. Though due to our non-scientific, unofficial research, GNR fans have more of an appetite for hard liquor than a brown non-soda, there’s no reason the road back to “Paradise City” can’t be paved with Dr. P. from MTV Buzzworthy Blog

Eh, it's ok to me, I prefer Coca-Cola. But how much have they spent on recording that non-existent album anyway? I've heard it's cost millions so far.

If I was to go to a Guns N' Roses concert now, I'd carry a sign that said "Slash Duff Steven Izzy Axl" and "Axl, release the damned album!!"
Granted I would probably get kicked out by Axl, it'd be fun.

Well, I heard someone at a concert in 2001 or so had a similar sign and Axl kicked him out.
I think that Axl is just afraid to release the album, because he knows the oldschools won't be interested in buying anything by the so-called "New Guns N' Roses." I'd buy it, just because I've heard the songs, like a few of them, and wouldn't care whose on it. I'd then go and find Velvet Revolver's newer album and compare the instruments between GNR Appetite For Destruction, VR Libertad, and nGNR Chinese Democracy and see which rocks hardest (I have a feeling AFD would win, but it'd be an interesting collection anyway, Axl w/ Slash, Slash sans Axl, and Axl sans Slash.)

Nah, I just read on Wikipedia that he was kicked out for "erratic stage behavior" and "personal problems" I think.
It also says that he threw the name Sebastian Bach out there in a "spiteful" manner. Isn't Bach involved with Axl Rose anyway? But hey, if Scott is going back to Stone Temple Pilots, maybe this holds hope for the classic Guns lineup to get back together, you think?
Slash himself has said that he would get back together with Axl if it wasn't just for the money, but rather for the fans. Maybe the current idea of Chinese Democracy will be erased, and another one will be formed.

Who would spend over one and a half decades, millions of dollars and a world tour (dedicated to a non-existing album) then scrap the idea?
Could only be GNR! lol

Well, that's what Sebastian Bach has said, cause he's said that when he's been over to Axl's house, he has like three or four discs...
I think the label isn't going to release it even if the fans demand it though...Axl's just spent way too much money and way too much time on making it for it to be a smart economical decision.

So it's smarter to not sell something you've spent money on rather than sell it and get some cash?
