Check this out. Pretty good comparison of Nightrain between 1992, 2001, and 2006. youtube.com/watch?v=wKKTpRrQdvY'92 sounds awesome. '06 sounds awesome. '01 sounds like a little girl.

Dude the 2000-2002 tour was a joke... i immediatly blew the new GNR off.
1. The new line up looked redicolous, including Axl...wel especially Axl, wtf with the big jerseys?
2. They didnt sound good enough to back that up
3. Axl sounded like he had no balls
but apon hearing/seeing these new boots. They not only sound 1000% better, they look better, Axl has cleaned up his image, and his signature voice is back. GNR is definatly one of if not the greatest live acts at the moment

Nope. He just wasn't ready to tour. He was pushed into the 2002 tour (supposedly) by the record company.
Interesting tidbit... think about it. If Axl had introduced songs like Better and IRS to the old band in 1994, I'm sure they would have stayed in. In the late 1990s, Axl was taking a more... stupid approach. Listen to Oh My God or Silkworms. That's the kind of stuff Axl wanted to do in 1994. If he had introduced IRS or Better in '94, we might still have the old Gunners. Those songs are awesome rock songs!

Ahh yes, the pressure of the record company forces you to tour when you aren't neccesarily capable to do it.
Labels suck, all they are good for is getting your records out, they don't push the songs you want pushed, is it true that "Satellite Blues" was picked as a single for Stiff Upper Lip over Brian's choice "Can't Stand Still"?

Now IRS and Better, are amazing, even in demo form
