Actually, I think it might have a small effect on the liver, but I actually heard somewhere that Bon actually had a bit of asthma as well, and asthma + London's February's + heavy drinking = lethal combo.

Mark Evans tells i his book that Bon Scott overdosed on Smack aka heroin in 1975 and was known to take heroin during their years together 1975-1977. Heroin is not a drug you casually take, like a joint here or there. The sad truth is that Bon Scott was a hard core alcoholic and a junkie. Alastair Kinear was not great buddies with Bon but fate put them together that night. If you read Alistair Kinnear 2005?interview and you listen to Silver Smith interview from 2010, it's clear that Bon Scott was more frail than you think. He was physically a SMALL man. He was said to have drank over a liter of bourbon that night and most likely he had some red wine. Since he had a history of heroin use, and depression, it's not hard to suggest maybe he took some smack that night. Alistair was a light weight drinker and since they weren't great buddies, it's likely Bon did things in private, without Alistair knowing. Bon did not die of hypothermia because it was mild February night. HE didn't die choking on vomit. Truth is, he most likely died of renal failure from alcohol poisoning and heroin use stopped his heart. I wish he had lived. Let's not forget that just before ACDC, Bon lived on some hippie farm in Adelaide where heroin and acid was rampant. I plan to visit his memorial in Perth someday. I love ACDC with Bon and Brian but the fact Angus and Malcom failed to DEMAND Mark Evans join them in the Music Hall of Fame is a real shame that has soured me to them. Angus needs to correct this wrong and do the right thing, but he won't because the Young boys hold grudges and are nihilist.
